You must be getting your monies worth from your tax dollars anonm. I don't think I am. I think it could be fixed. By the way you missed an important point. How much gas and oil gets in the water every time it floods the junk yard?

The road flooded again two weeks ago. The water is still flowing across the road. Last week a few cars slid off the road there because it turned to ice one morning. I believe Bucks is pumping water from there place and it continuously flows across the road. The state says they have no jurisdiction even though the water flows over a state road. They say it is a Town of Ulster problem. Who will take responsibility for this and find out why the water continuously flows across the road. Will someone have to get killed on that turn, perhaps a motorcyclist, before any corrective action is taken? How about it our fine elected officials who will step up?

Raising the level of the road will not stop the flooding. It has to be stopped at the source. If you are observant enough, you will notice that it only floods for a month or so in the Spring, and then only when there is both a full or new moon, and high tides. This area is tidal, as is the Hudson River, which feeds it. Again, cut off the source, and you will get rid of the flooding. Perhaps paving the Hudson River, or the Roundout Creek is in order to "fix" this "problem."

Another accident on the wet turn by Bucks Junkyard 4/25/11. Water is being pumped across the road creating a hazard.

When will this be resolved? Will it take a death do address this? Seriuously!! Not only it it a hazard to vehicles, a risk to cyclists, it is polluting our waterway. Gas and oils from a junk yard are mixing and emptying back into the river EVERY day!
Who is responsible? Wake up DEC and smell the oil!!

very discouraging to you and all of us in the surrounding area..... like i believe time for tax reprieve, every year more taxes, less services.... this clix-fix really shows what we all are going threw in this area... hopefully someone will wake up ,,, and soon

When the river causes this area of the road to flood it only last for a couple days. The big issue is the pond in back of the junk yard. With all the rain this year this section of the road has water going acrossed it nearly continually from the Buck Junk yard side of the road. There is a drainage ditch for the pond to flow through that is choked up with weeds and debris, maybe a tire or two, nobody ever looks into cleaning this out. It's located passed the house next to the junkyard. The big thing here is how ineffective SeeClickFix is, we are just wasting our time writing these reports, nobody is looking at this stuff.

Yes......I think this was finally resolved. Now we have to see how long the fix will last. After numerous calls to the Town of Ulster, NYSDOT, DEC and posting here I contacted congressmen Hinchey's office. A few days later a state excavator showed up and the water stopped being pumped across the road. I am not sure if the Congressman had anything to do with this or the timing was just coincidence. Whoever resolved this....THANK YOU!
