Description
ADA compliance issue: missing curb ramps force wheelchair-bound residents to use the street to reach the crosswalk; motorists come around a curve and do not have a good view of people in the street. First reported in 2008 (seven years ago!), when the City acknowledged that this was a high priority intersection for curb ramps given its proximity to low-income senior housing, a middle school, a bus stop, and a grocery store. However, this intersection has been repeatedly excluded from curb ramp contracts to address ADA compliance in the adjacent neighborhoods. Please update the neighborhood on the specific reasons that the City has not yet addressed ADA concerns at this intersection and ensure that this intersection is included in the new contract currently being bid out.
