This issue should not be closed because someone at the City suggests that this issue belongs to Dominion Power which is a separate entity from the City. I know that Dominion Power is a separate entity from the City. The point is that Dominion Power (or their contractor) worked on thier utility facilities (power pole) in the City's ROW and they did not complete their project work to appropriate standards of completion--that is correctly back filling the hole and cleaning up the excess dirt and the other materials left behind. It is bad enough that Dominion Power erected an ugly power pole with three guide wires in the City ROW on 21st Street without any consideration of how that facility would look. I have been working with Venture Richmond,CAR, Mark Olinger and Chris Beschler to improve the design standards for utility facilities in the City's ROW which issue needs to be addressed as well. However, this issue is a simple one--that is--the utility company (Dominion Power) did work in the City's ROW and should be held accountable for making sure that their work is complete and not left unfinished and unsightly. The fact that someone in City government would attempt to close this work order and refer me to Dominion Power is part of the reason there is a problem in the first place. I have no standing with Dominion Power. It is not my land. It is the City's land and the City's ROW. Dominion Power did harm to the ROW and the City has the ability to force Dominion Power to fix it. I do not. Please call Dominion Power and ask them to fix this problem. Please do not close this work order and suggest I contact Dominion Power. Thank you.
