SAN RAFAEL COMMUNITY TASK FORCE WATCH

Notified About

  • Bungalow Ave SAN RAFAEL, CA - San Rafael
The neighborhood has been trying to get this Street repaired since 1989! The Street is very narrow making it difficult for 2 cars to pass safely. There are large open Gutters with Driveway entrances making it dangerous when 2 cars try to pass. A car can hit a driveway entrance and severely damage there front suspension. This has happened often. It has only partial sidewalks causing pedestrians to walk on the Street. We have had nothing but excuses from the City. The IJ published an article Nov 23 2003 concerning this issue.(See attached). This issue has gone on far to long.

  • 71 Trellis Dr San Rafael, CA, 94903, USA - San Rafael
Trash overflowing. And appears to be a bee or wasp nest in the very near vicinity of this trashcan. They are quite aggressive. Multiple dogs and children have been stung/bitten walking on the path to and from school. I’ve been watching it for five minutes and cannot seem to locate a nest source. Does not appear to be in the trashcan itself but I cannot exactly tell.

conversation with a resident today about her lack of ability to cross from the North side of Terra Linda, walking, to the Mall or to CVS because of all the work being done from the truck accident. She’s very upset that she doesn’t have a way to cross the street without walking quite an extra distance.

She's lost 2 trees because of excessive erosion due to water traveling to her her property in excess. She said it's a private lot and we would need to arrange a time to meet with her because there is no public access.

  • 323 Jewell St San Rafael, California, 94901 - San Rafael
This tree has been leaning into the street for several years and we have contacted both ATT and PGE to alert to the concern that it will take out the phone line (trunk line) if the weight of the branch is not removed. Both have mede no response. Now with the recent storms, it appears the entire tree is about to fall into the street (and probably on my car in the photo). This tree needs to be taken down immediately before it does property damage or worse, lands on a person walking on the sidewalk. Please address as soon as possible. Chris Lamen
  • 115–175 Clayton St San Rafael CA 94901, United States - Gerstle Park
Double yellow line at s curve needs to be repainted. This curve is a safety hazard because cars cross over the faded lines.
  • Point San Pedro Rd San Rafael, CA, 94901, USA - San Rafael
Bike Lane Blockage Issue - Location about 100 yds east of Point San Pedro Road and Porto Bello Drive. Not sure if this stretch of Point San Pedro Road is in the City or County, but I'll start with the City. This project that resulted in the grates and cones has been ongoing for at least 6 months with no resolution. The issue is that the grate and the cones in the bike lane force bikers going eastbound on PSP at this point to veer left into the right lane of vehicle traffic. This is dangerous for both bikers and vehicle drivers. Also there are no signs warning of this hazard as you approach this point. Thus, this also becomes an issue of liability were a bike to veer left here into the right traffic lane and be hit by a vehicle approaching from the rear. The responsible agency should at least post one of those "Share the Road with Bikes" signs that I often see when the City is temporarily working in a bike lane.
