Traffic/Road Safety Archived657 Grand Avenue New Haven Connecticut - Mill RiverThe importance of pedestrian safety at construction sites in New Haven appears to be dependent on where you walk. At the construction site on Broadway near York Street pedestrians are protected from vehicular traffic while pedestrians on Grand Avenue must step out into the lane of vehicular traffic to walk by the construction on that major thoroughfare. Who grants building permits that allow construction companies to block the sidewalk with no consideration of the pedestrians in front of a residential apartment complex? This is not right, Grand Avenue is wide enough to create a safe pedestrian walk-way if cars are not allowed to park across the street for the duration of the construction project that blocks the sidewalk. Make Grand Avenue at Farnam Courts safe for pedestrians.

Other - city responsibility Archived544-550 Grand Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Mill RiverThis time don't let the RR Co. leave asphalt and other refuse on the side of the track when the make their repairs and modifications. The asphalt in the picture has been there for years. It would not be a bad idea to tell to haul it away with any other asphalt and contaminated dirt they dig up.
