Scott called me!!!!!!
It will be fixed over the next few days. I asked that it be fixed ASAP! He said it might take until Tuesday July 28, 2009 because they need an electrician to do the work...it's not as simple as changing a bulb.
LCI will follow this one until we see the light!!!!!!
Or until someone tells us the lights are back on.
Please keep posting so we know what's going on.
Also....feel free to call LCI....946-7090 about other issues.
Please enjoy this photo ....I hope it helps to distract everyone form the issue: lack of light...hahaha....!

Great work LCI. And I love your sense of humor!
Maybe you can tackle the issue of speeding Yale shuttles next?

from today's Register piece:
http://www.nhregister.com/articles/2009/07/24/news/a3-nenyberg.txt
“We are exactly in the same situation as everyone else — we are frustrated,” said Rena Masten Leddy, executive director of the Town Green Special Service District.
She said it has not been fixed despite several calls to College Street LLC, Nyberg’s company.
The Web site SeeClickFix.com lists 80 complaints about the lack of lights, spanning more than a year.
Leddy said it is important that all of downtown is well-lit. “There is no question we want people to feel safe,” she said.
Douglas Hausladen, who heads the Public Safety Committee of the Downtown Wooster Square Community Management Team, said it should not be hard to quickly reach the right person and get it resolved.
“It seems like a little thing to ask for,” Hausladen said. “There is nothing more important than quality-of-life issues, and lighting is one of them.”
Hausladen, who manages property for Yale University, said it took many calls to Nyberg’s office to resolve a problem with trash removal at another of his properties.
“What the hell is going on with David Nyberg?” Clark asked. “What do we do with the man? Where is he?”

Are we talking about the lights on Chapel, or on Crown Street?
Crown Street is even worse, as there are no street lights with the Gateway hole across the street.
The entire nightclub district should be lit up like Broadway Square imho. Just to make it feel safe...

This concerns the lights on Chapel.
If you want to open a clicket for Crown Street, I'm all for you doing so and totally agree - please post the link here if you decide to do it.

These lights are still off. Some of the ones near the Starbucks are working now, but the ones towards Cafe Bottega are not. It's dark and foreboding.
The city economic development office should really look into why we apparently can't keep our sidewalks lit even after years of complaints from dozens of people and articles in the local newspaper.

Here's what the sidewalk looks like right now.
Not exactly a "Welcome to New Haven" image.
CT Livable Streets Campaign (Registered User)
All the advertising dollars in the world for New Haven won't mean much if the sidewalks look like this every night.
Countless times, I have overheard visitors from out of town comment on the darkness of this particular section of sidewalk.

The lights appear to be on now. This is a big improvement. Thank you to everyone who helped fix this!
Please reopen the issue if you notice that the lights are turned off.
Reopened CT Livable Streets Campaign (Registered User)
I am reopening this issue because at least two lights are burnt out, one above the Chapel Street facade of Bottega, and the other (more important) directly above the tenant callbox entrance to the left of the revolving doors.
I am not sure that the property managers fully understand that these types of things make Downtown New Haven look very unappealing.

LCI called (again) and they say it's an electrical issue.
We are waiting for a more info about this lack of light.
Perhaps the Management company will enlighten us....we'll keep you in the loop.

For the past two nights, the lights between the entrance to 900 Chapel and Starbucks have been off.
Please fix this unacceptable situation immediately.
