Sorry for the misunderstanding Bill, but are their signs in the median making drivers aware that the eft lane will be ending soon? I'm not sure I recall seeing them, perhaps I was one of the "stupid" drivers that doesn't have the capabilities to read road signs.

I understand the road may have Left Turn Only but does that do much justice when they are finding out at the last second and need to merge with traffice to the right or the streets are covered with snow?

I think this is an intersection that needs attention for the drivers that arent as fortunate as you....this is an issue that needs addressed.

I have to go there tomorrow and I will take my camera with me and post a picture/s of what I see.
If memory serves me right there is a sign going east on 254 on the bridge that states "through traffic right lane only. I know the road is marked with left turn only in the left lane as I go through there a few times a week when I have to go to Staples from Sheffield Lake.

Since there isn't a median on the road, it's going to be very difficult for traffic moving East, in the left lane to know the lane is ending. Sure it might be noted on the side of the road, for the drivers to the right but not everyone is looking to the right of their vehicle...they are usually looking ahead and if they're not ready for the left lane to end, they are going to meet drivers turning left onto Gulf.

85% of road signs are on the right side of all highways. If people can't see them it's there fault.
The intersection that you are referring to is in Sheffield Township. I suggest you call the police department there and complain about it and see if they can do something about people that don't read the signs.
