This is down at the end of Kentucky, along the tracks reaching to Florida. They have a huge encampment and are parking cars in the cul de sac of Kentucky and in the alley. It's been reported many times as it continues to grow. Union Pacific and the city need to do something about this. The people have been known to use the bleachers and dug outs at the Little League field as toilets, making it so children are sitting along filth to play. Please, fix this.

It’s sad, and as someone who walks by there regularly and basically lives across the street, it’s dangerous. I’ve seen needles, bottles, waste, and I’ve been verbally assaulted when I offered help. The tracks are maintained by the railroad, but Vallejo needs to communicate much more frequently to make them do their job. I’ve talked to the guys who are sub-contracted to clean this stuff up and it’s a hard gig. They have offered work to the homeless and can’t get anyone to take it. It’s an addiction issue. The school is property of Vallejo USD and I believe the baseball field might be too or it’s GVRD. The tracks are Union Pacific. A big, red tape mess. Help!
Thank you for reporting! Code Enforcement Officer Sidie is working with the California Northern Railroad to address this issue. SeeClickFix is one of the many tools available to the citizens of Vallejo to report non-emergency issues. We “close” an issue in SeeClickFix once we've acknowledged the complaint; however, this issue is not "Closed" per se; it will remain an "Open" case with us until it is corrected. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please let us know. Thank you for using SeeClickFix!
Thanks for reporting! Yesterday (9/16), the Police Department, Community Services Section, Code Enforcement, and Public Works personnel posted notices at all locations (City Hall, library, parking garage, waterfront) giving illegal campers seven days to remove all items from these areas, per the municipal code which you can view here http://bit.ly/1mbs6Xs. If you have further questions regarding this, please call the Community Services Section at (707) 553-7218.
Great. Now you have seven days to prepare. Some of these people may leave, and some will do the usual merry-go-round: move a few streets over and settle in again. Some may stay put, not because they are villains, but because they are victims. They will need help: food, drug therapy, medical attention, and a clean, safe place to sleep. Are we prepared for this?
Not that those areas shouldn't be enforced , but how does posting notices at City Hall, Waterfront etc. help this issue that is not at any of those locations? R.R. tracks from Kentucky to Florida streets was described. There are already large metal signs stating no camping etc. at City Hall etc.
The Vallejo Police Departments Community Service Section, Code Enforcement Division and Neighborhood Law Attorney's met wit the Railroad Company today to discuss clean up. They have said it will be cleaned up this month.
