It was a good idea to put streetlights up. But it's just not worth it to fix them. Hear me out.
The City will have to run new copper wiring to fix the streetlights on Columbus, Turner, and Ascot Parker's, and down Lake Herman Road. Great yay! We can see bikes, animals and pedestrians better.
And then somebody comes along and ties one end of the new copper cable to their vehicle and drags them all out again to sell for a tenth of what it costs to purchase the material.
No, it's not the lights on the streets that need to be fixed, so much as the light in our hearts.
